Membership

Become a member of Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust (FRHT).

The FRHT is staffed solely by volunteers and by joining you will be supporting the efforts of other members in preserving Aberdeen’s railway heritage.
The FRHT needs your help to preserve one of Aberdeen’s earliest brick-built railway buildings. If you have a specialist skill and can give up a few hours a month to help preserve and restore this 160-year old building, we need you!
All new members are welcome but the Trust needs in particularly specialist skills from the building trade, such as joiners and carpenters, electricians, plumbers, bricklayers and roofers. Your expertise counts in so many ways, money, time and energy. And that’s only with the fabric of the building! Much the same skills are required for the restoration of the GNSR timber built coaches.

The Trust has a useful range of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines and planning machines. All these machines have to have properly qualified operators and who could pass-on their expertise. Many of these skills are being lost. Can you help?

The Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust is keen to support direct participation in its activities. Becoming a member of the Ferryhill Railway Trust creates that opportunity.

Membership runs from 1 July each year and the current subscription is £20.

The Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust is always looking for members whether active or passive. Members can work as volunteers on the site or in organisational roles. Donations are always welcome.

The members meet every Thursday and Sunday to carry out a variety of tasks and restoration projects.
